Another inspiring skillset of Ms. Zepeda’s is that she has the knowledge and skills to transform a school culture and climate through the use of positive social emotional strategies. She has a background with Conscious Discipline and uses it not only in her personal life, but with all students and stakeholders she works with. She feels that we encounter many students that need to be taught not just academics skills but social and emotional skills as well.
She also feels it is VITAL for a child to get a GOOD foundation in their education, in order to be successful in the rest of their educational experiences. She has high expectations of all children, teachers and leaders. Having students best interest in mind helps her promote a positive school culture and an effective educational program conducive to student learning and development in a safe and caring environment. Building a strong school family of collaborative educators helps put into perspective what the schools mission/vision is. As a school leader, she is inspired by people that enjoy working with children and believe all students are capable of reaching their highest potential.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, small arts and crafts and enjoying the outdoors. As she works to complete her doctoral degree in Executive Leadership at Houston Baptist University, now knows as Houston Christian University, she looks forward to working with educators to improve instruction for all children.
